1. Results of qualifying events

The results of each event shall be announced at the end of the event.

Where two or more players are tied for 1st, 2nd and/or 3rd place in a category, the following rules shall apply to decide the final placings:

  1. Category A event

Overall victory: 3 hole play-off

Overall podium places: 1 hole play-off

Ladies, Over 45 or Under 16 victory or podium places: 1 hole-play-off

  1. Category B event

Overall, Ladies, Over 45 or Under 16 victory: 1 hole play-off

Overall, Ladies, Over 45 or Under 16 podium places: 5 penalty putts

  1. Category C event

Overall victory: 1 hole play-off

Ladies, Over 45 or Under 16 victory: 5 penalty putts

Overall, Ladies, Over 45 or Under 16 podium places: Countback, using the 9-6-3-1 strokeplay format

Where players in 4th place and lower are tied, there will be no play-off or countback and they will be deemed to have finished jointly.  The only exception to this will be where a qualifying stage has taken place (e.g. in a Champions league style tournament), and it is necessary to separate players via countback to establish who has made the cut.

Where two players take part in penalty putts, there will be 5 putts each, semi-alternately in an AB-BA format, from 10 yards to decide the tie.  Where three or more players take part in penalty putts, there will be 5 putts each, semi-alternately in an ABC-BCA-CAB format (i.e. players rotate in order for each putt).  Where any two or more players remain tied after 5 putts, sudden death penalty putts will decide the winner of the tie.

In any events where an informal category such as “Newcomer” or “Amateur” is used, all ties will be decided by standard 9-6-3-1 countback.

Where no playoff or penalty putts are possible (or where such event is not appropriate, according to the discretion of the Tournament Director) the tied place shall be shared between the tied players.

  1. Prize-giving

The top 3 players in the Overall category of each individual events will receive a prize, as will the top player in each of the other categories (this will be extended to the top 3 where there are at least 5 players in that category).  A player’s presence is compulsory at the awards ceremony in order to receive any prize.  Failure to attend prize giving will result in the prize being forfeited and may result in disqualification.
